"IMAGE INFLATION (THE 12 MILLION TELEVISION IMAGES…)";
typescript, 1977
Schönherr made numerous exposés, concept papers and scores for his major work, the multi-part serial photographic project IMAGE INFLATION, referred to here as a „photo marathon.“ This document from 1977, with the subtitle „The 12 million television images in people’s minds,“ outlines the four parts, which consist of still photographs of television images shot according to a score and presented as enlarged contact sheets. For the second part of the series Schönherr shot a roll of film of television images every day for the entire year of 1978 in order to produce 365 enlarged contact sheets (50 x 60 cm).
