In addition to his enlarged contact sheets, which he shot according to painstakingly conceived scores Schönherr also made many photographs of individual television images, sometimes experimenting with superimposition and the use of color gels. He often gravitated towards cartoons, with a particular fondness for the 1960s television series THE ADVENTURES OF SUPERBOY. One of Schönherr’s photographs of Superboy is titled "Self-Portrait."
