Schönherr began the serial photographic works he termed "structural photography" in the 1960s. These enlarged contact sheets typically consist of a series of photographs of television images alternating with single color frames. Starting in the early 1970s, Schönherr began to produce these photographic works according to carefully worked out scores or diagrams.
