FILM NO. 57A (ANDY WARHOL CATALOGUE FILM)
Super 8, 1968, silent, 23’
Andy Warhol’s appropriation of pop cultural images and use of brilliant colors in his screen prints was of tremendous importance to Schönherr, who initially titled his early films "Banana 1," "Banana 2," etc. as an homage to the artist. In 1968, Schönherr used single-frame technique, flashing colored lights and in-camera editing to film the celebrated black and white catalogue for Andy Warhol’s exhibition at the Moderna Museet in Stockholm that same year.
